A Note From Caitlin—
“I’d say my journey began with an avid love for movement and a passion for learning about the human body, plus a few good injuries that helped light my fire to find healing, which eventually landed me in school for Structural Integration. I wanted to help people feel empowered - help them to find ways out of their pain and realize that they can change the way they inhabit their body. This work is so unique in the way it can help re-pattern everyday movement and allow people to no longer feel stuck in patterns of pain or debilitating posture. I feel so grateful that I get to witness people make those changes everyday.”
Caitlin Nelson was born and raised in Eugene where she initially attended college at the University of Oregon, receiving a B.A. in Dance. From there she took her first classes in anatomy and somatics, which fueled her curiosity for how the body moves and operates. After some major injuries that left her wondering if she would ever be able to dance without pain again, she began receiving physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and chiropractic regularly. Not only was she able to make a full recovery without surgery, but she began to understand the profound effects that bodywork can have on quality of life and well-being. She eventually received her first Rolf Method Ten Series and was amazed by the modality’s distinct ability to facilitate long lasting change with patterns of posture and chronic pain. Not to mention, she felt a renewed sense of freedom in the body that hadn’t been felt in years. In 2020 she attended The Guild for Structural Integration in Salt Lake City Utah where she completed a 700+ hour training in the Rolf Method. She has since studied and been mentored with long time Structural Integrators Jodi Miller and Matt Mahan, and Rolfer Jeffrey Burch. Today she remains committed to her practice and continues to receive trainings that further her knowledge of the body. After several years exploring the world and living in Washington where she first began a private practice, she has returned to the Eugene area where she lives with her partner, daughter and dog. In her free time she enjoys yoga, camping, canoeing, walking with her family and Aussie dog and tending to her garden.
